At SGang Gwaay Llanagaay, there are a number of massive wooden totems that have been intricately carved with patterns and symbols that depict the myths, legends, and cultures of the Indigenous peoples of the Haida Gwaii Islands in British Columbia, Canada. Some of the best preserved totem poles in the entire world, the totems were named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981.

Haida Gwaii is a great place to go salmon fishing. The seas of this archipelago off the coast of British Columbia offer some of the best fishing in the nation due to the plentiful runs of Chinook, Coho, and Steelhead. Anglers can book fishing charters to accompany them on a day of fishing, and because of the region's distinctive marine environment, there is a chance to catch a range of species, from surf perch to lingcod. In addition, Haida Gwaii has some of Canada's most stunning and unspoiled shoreline, making it the perfect location for a fishing vacation.
