History of B.C. WinesThe Okanagan Valley is known for its abundance of vineyards, and the history of wine in the Valley is long and rich. The oldest vineyard in the Okanagan Valley was planted in the late 19th century, and the area quickly became a hotspot for winemaking. In the early 1900s, the wine industry in the Okanagan Valley was booming, as winemakers from around the world began to flock to the region. The Okanagan Valley has since become one of the most renowned wine regions in the world, producing some of the finest wines in the world. Today, the Okanagan Valley is home to over 200 wineries, making it one of the most important wine regions in Canada.
